Former VP and GOP Congressman Jack Kemp dies after a long battle with cancer. Via AP:
Jack Kemp, the ex-quarterback, congressman, one-time vice-presidential nominee and self-described "bleeding-heart conservative" died Saturday.
"Pro football gave me a good perspective. When I entered the political arena, I had already been booed, cheered, cut, sold, traded, and hung in effigy."
Kemp had the political game down pat. This is one of my favorite quotes of his. I honestly think the man could have been president in '96... had he been at the top of the ticket.
God rest his soul... and prayers to the Kemp family.

If Barry Goldwater can be considered the father of Reaganomics -- then Mr. Kemp is the Step-father. Mr. Kemp gave Reagon the push and game plan. The Kemp/Roth tax cuts in 1981. We conserves are weaker today with his loss. But only this day. That I believe, is how he we put it.
Oh, how I wish he'd beaten Dole in the primaries.
