So Long California, And Thanks For All The Fish
Central California is going through a pretty rough time thanks to the anti-human Caliban in charge. These dolts would rather save a two inch fish that somehow made its way into the waters of the San Joaquin Valley than have water for the humans. Comedian Paul Rodriguez appearing here on Hannity says this is no laughing matter.
And the libs knew this was going to happen, to quote California Department of Water Resources directing moonbat Lester Snow, "Our actions to save the smelt will place a real hardship on some water users in the Bay Area". How about saving the farmers, for crying out loud?

This Is What The Government Wants

The headline on Drudge says it all. Bela Pelosi was lecturing the Chicoms on junk science and "environmental justice" hoping that they would buy into their hoax known as "global warming".
Just so that I am not guilty of taking Frau Pelousy's comments out of context, here's the whole quote and the prelude:
In answering a question from a student about how Pelosi was going to get Americans to cut back on their carbon emissions, the leading Democratic lawmaker said it was important to educate children on how to conserve energy and for citizens to build more environmentally friendly homes.
"We have so much room for improvement," she said. "Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory ... of how we are taking responsibility."
So that means Green Gestapo running around spying on their neighbors, taking down how much they're driving their SUV, only giving them certain times to mow their lawn, reminding them to limit their shower time to under 3 minutes, and don't forget about that roof that needs painted to curb "global warming". The elite though will still get to use as much energy as they like in their mansions and fly their jets around while we are forced to lower our "carbon footprint".
You knew it was going to get crazy when the ChiComs started preaching to us about free-market economics.

Lies of the Enviromarxist Left
The environmental left is kicking off a hard-sell media campaign to win over a skeptical public on their massive carbon tax and regulation scheme. (a.k.a Crap and Trade.) As is usual when dealing with the neo-Marxist left, the strategy begins with lying.
Also, don't tell workers the truth... Crap and Trade will result in the loss of up to 3,000,000 jobs... Tell them it will actually create jobs. I saw an extremely deceptive advertisement pushing Cap and Trade on General Electric's Sci-Fi Channel Last night. The propaganda piece made it seem like cap and trade policies would bring back steelworker jobs building wind turbines.
First off, the steel industry would be among the hardest hit by cap and trade, since it uses a lot of energy (the cost of which will increase) and produces a lot of carbon dioxide (for which it will have to pay).
Second, the environmental left while claiming to support wind energy is blocking its development in such places as the Atlantic Ocean off Ted Kennedy's estate and anywhere the turbines might be seen as an eyesore or hurt the little birdies.
Third, as a result of one and two, not that many steel workers are going to be needed to build wind turbines. Certainly not enough to offset industry jobs that will be shipped off to Mehico, China, Brazil, and India... who have so far been smart enough to exempt themselves from this carbon idiocy.
Don't confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like "cap and cash back" or "pollution reduction refund."i.e. Lie to consumers that Crap-and-Trade will mean "Free monies from duh Gubmint." When the truth is, consumers' energy and other costs are going to increase $4,000 a year because of crap and trade.

New Name, Same Bad Taste
The eco-Marxists and leftist dummies have been using the farce of "global warming" for quite a long time now, and it has been plastered all over major newspapers, media outlets, and even the Weather Channel itself (even though the founder is on the more rational side). But most Americans have noticed it hasn't really been particularly warmer since 1988 and it's not really a top concern. So the marketing henchmen for The Big Hoax have decided to tinker around with some ideas on how to really sell the lie: New names for their scheme.
The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington.
Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about "our deteriorating atmosphere." Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up "moving away from the dirty fuels of the past." Don't confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like "cap and cash back" or "pollution reduction refund."
Sounds like an admission that the "global warming" campaign was a lie, not that this will prevent big government from crippling the economy with cap and trade, or whatever they want to call it now. They want to create a populist appeal for their agenda and gobble up your tax dollars like hungry pigs at a trough. And maybe Al Gore might come out with a new lackluster blockbuster on "our deteriorating atmosphere"... "An Inconvenient Truth Part II". Still there's more.
EcoAmerica has been conducting research for the last several years to find new ways to frame environmental issues and so build public support for climate change legislation and other initiatives. … Environmental issues consistently rate near the bottom of public worry, according to many public opinion polls. A Pew Research Center poll released in January found global warming last among 20 voter concerns; it trailed issues like addressing moral decline and decreasing the influence of lobbyists. "We know why it's lowest," said Mr. Perkowitz, a marketer of outdoor clothing and home furnishings before he started ecoAmerica, whose activities are financed by corporations, foundations and individuals. "When someone thinks of global warming, they think of a politicized, polarized argument. When you say 'global warming,' a certain group of Americans think that's a code word for progressive liberals, gay marriage and other such issues."
All this is going on in a smoke-filled room (although it's not cigarette smoke) where leftist bureaucrats and eco-Marxists are figuring out how to lie to you with a smile and steal your money and control your behavior. It's worked before. Socialism used to mean government stealing your hard earned money and handing out some crumbs to others. Now socialism is "change". 52% of the American people fell for it before, let's hope they don't get fooled again.

Reading For Earth Day

Via I Own The World.
Also if you want a laugh, check out IMAO's 10 Simple Things To Save The Earth post.
Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna throw some more styrofoam on the fire. Kind of chilly this morning.
Happy Unicorn Killer Day
The founder of "Earth Day" has some dirty little secrets. You don't see the eco-nutjobs celebrating this event every year (but they celebrate Lenin's anniversary at the same time). Certainly Holly Maddux won't be celebrating.
Earth Day is typical of the hypocritical left. Einhorn was all about peace and love and free weed and crappy hippy music, but in the end he is known for being the Unicorn Killer. But if it makes you feel better to throw your Coke can in the recycling bin instead of the trash can, do it. Just don't give credit to this sham of a day while trying to do something decent.

Put Down The Big Mac Or You'll Kill The Planet

My jaw dropped when I read this on Drudge this morning. Here's a snippet from the UK Sun:
THE rising number of fat people was yesterday blamed for global warming.
Scientists warned that the increase in big-eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet.
Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage.
Global warming has been blamed on a lot of things, from cars to cow farts. I haven't seen them blame overweight people until this morning. I shudder to think what the solution would be. Government imposed food rations? A government approved Sweating To The Oldies for the "earth killers"? No, it won't be anything that tyrannical (yet). Right now, they just want your money in the form of "carbon offsets". I can just see Al Bore (who needs to lose that tank ass and double chin himself) now going to a Weight Watcher's initiation with a bunch of guilty leftists who need to lose the L.B.s "For that extra helping you get at supper, you need to contribute X amount of dollars".
Doug Ross has followed the money and provides the cold hard scientific facts that show temperatures are falling while CO2 (which hardly makes up a greenhouse gas) levels are slightly rising. So far only 34% of Americans right now believe that global warming (or climate change for those who really want to dupe the masses) is happening because of mankind. But they are trying their hardest to get other lemmings to march off the cliff.
So when a eco-nut asks you about Global Warming (or as they prefer "Climate Change", just tell them that they better find a way to regulate this thing:

Even more Eco-Nuttery
This has got to be an April Fool's joke!
Sure this is a good idea. After all, Pooh wore a red polo shirt, Yogi sported a green tie and hat... oh wait, those were CARTOONS!
Leave it to the liberal to try to turn that into reality and destroy a species they are trying to "help".
Hat tip to Moonbattery.
As the climate crisis mounts and Arctic icebergs slip away, polar bears are suffering starvation, population declines, and drowning as they must swim further and further to find food. Seeking to raise awareness for the endangered species' plight, ADDI Concepts has taken wildlife preservation literally by designing a life-vest for displaced polar bears struggling to stay afloat as their homes sink into the sea.

Earth Hour Fail
Via the American Thinker.
The Greenies did not convince the average liberal New Yorkers and Californians to turn off their lights at the appointed Earth Hour of 8:30 PM local time.
By looking at real time data in New York and California, there was no drop in electric usage.
The New York State Independent System Operator has data for electric usage here. By downloading the data and plotting it it appears that at the Earth hour of 8:30 PM, there was no discernable electric usage drop. Here is the load graph (pictured above) for New York in Megawatts:
This to also go along with recent surveys that say Americans are not being suckered into the myth and scam that is global warming.

More Eco-Nuttery

This Saturday, you will be able to spot the worshipers of The Goracle by the darkness of their homes. If they can get enough people to drink the Kool-Aid and turn off their lights from 8:30 to 9:30 Saturday night, they'll be able to achieve their dream of making America look like North Korea.
In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.
A more constructive use of your time would be to celebrate Human Achievement Hour.
This week CEI [the Competitive Enterprise Institute] announced the creation of Human Achievement Hour (HAH) to be celebrated at 8:30pm on March 28th 2009 (the same time and date of Earth Hour).
Our press release described ways people might celebrate the achievements of humanity such as eating diner, seeing a film, driving around, keeping the heat on in your home — all things that Earth Hour celebrators, presumably, should be refraining from. In the cheekiest manner, we claimed that anyone not foregoing the use of electricity in that hour is, by default, celebrating the achievements of human beings.
Only the liberals would view total darkness as an achievement and as a vote to put us back centuries before Edison's invention. I plan on keeping all the lights on in my home during that time. Hell, I may even turn on the Christmas lights as a middle finger to the enviro-Marxists that would have all of us living like Ed Begley Jr., driving vegetable oil powered lawn mowers and drinking our own urine.
Nothing sums up liberalism better than sitting in the dark, wallowing in deluded self-righteousness.

Aussies' Flush Tax: Absolutley Craptastic

Soon to come to a liberal cesspool near you, Australia (which used to be a halfway conservative country) has adpoted a new "crap tax". From The Australian News:
Householders would be charged for each flush under a radical new toilet tax designed to help beat the drought.
The scheme would replace the current system, which sees sewage charges based
on a home's value - not its waste water output.
CSIRO Policy and Economic Research Unit member Jim McColl and Adelaide
University Water Management Professor Mike Young plan to promote the move to
state and federal politicians and experts across the country.
"It would encourage people to reduce their sewage output by taking shorter
showers, recycling washing machine water or connecting rainwater tanks to
internal plumbing to reduce their charges," Professor Young said.
"Some people may go as far as not flushing their toilet as often because the
less sewage you produce, the less sewage rate you pay."
Professor Young said sewer pricing needed to be addressed as part of the
response to the water crisis.
"People have been frightened to talk about sewage because it is yucky stuff,
but it is critically important to address it, as part of the whole water
cycle," he said.
"We are looking at reforming the way sewage is priced and this plan will
drive interest in the different ways water is used throughout Australia."
I guess Australians would not be allowed to have diarrhea if this goes through.
